For years, I have had a strong desire to volunteer, driven by the intent to help other people in any way that I can. It started when I was still in highschool. I was inspired by well-known personalities I often saw on TV, volunteering in the aftermath of typhoons. Their kindness in packing and distributing relief goods to those in need deeply moved me. I saw on the news how people smiled and how their faces lit up when they received the help they really needed. It was then that I knew I wanted to be part of a helping hand to those in need someday.
Since I was young, I’ve always seen news of people facing struggles after major disasters, with nowhere to go and having lost all their resources. That’s when I started wondering how I could possibly help ease their struggles. I have dreamt of being a volunteer ever since, but I didn’t know how or where to start. I had no idea how to join voluntary organizations before and had limited knowledge of which organizations I could possibly join. Until I saw my friend had joined Ka-Agapay and shared it on her IG story. That was when I was encouraged to join Ka-Agapay, and I got to see their voluntary deeds, advocacy, and beneficiaries on their social media accounts.
Through Ka-Agapay’s programs, I aim to be an instrument in supporting their various advocacies. I look forward to participating in more of their programs and contributing to the hope and genuine smiles of others. : )
